Downgrading GTA IV has never been easier! This tutorial will show you how to downgrade GTA IV to patch 1070 or patch 1080 - up to you! Doing so will allow you to gain access to multiplayer AND earn achievements with no external clients. Requirements! GTA IV: The Complete Edition - on STEAM. Windows 7 or LATER. 25GB of HDD space (45+ recommended) Step 1) DOWNGRADING! 1 ~ Once GTA IV is done downloading, right click on steam and open file location. 2 ~ (OPTIONAL) Make a backup of the GTAIV folder, incase something goes wrong whilst downgrading 3 ~ click HERE to download the downgrader (ZIP password is "gtrf") 4 ~ Drag the files to your main GTAIV folder 5 ~ Run patch 7 or 8! (8 is better for performance, 7 is more mod friendly. I personally chose 8) 9 ~ Go through the ENTIRE installation! Install GFWL and runtime. STEP 2) GFWL ( RENAME YOUR FOLDERS TO "GTAIV 1" OR ANYTHING ELSE) 1 ~ Steam auto-verifies the file integrity sometimes, ruining your downgrade, so renaming your folders is recommended, and don't launch through steam. 2 ~ Once IV is open, press HOME to open GFWL UI. 3 ~ Sign in with your Microsoft/XBOX account. (PASSWORD MUST BE FEWER THAN 15 CHARACTERS. 2FA MUST BE DISABLED.) 4 ~ Assuming you've logged in, you should see GTA IV and EFLC able to be played, this is about it! STEP 3) NOTES If your game crashes in single-player, please install THIS radio downgrader, install is pretty simple.
